7 Spiritual Books for Business Owners

If you’ve been a business owner for any time at all, you know business ownership is about intuition, grit, and purpose as much as it is about admin days. The inner work shapes how you show up every day, and you'd better invest in it early and consistently if you plan to stay in business, let alone grow a team or negotiate life-changing contracts.

I’m glad I realized early that my business was one big exercise in self-improvement. I know that the more solidly me I am, the better I can show up for my clients, my colleagues, my family, and myself. It took a few years for me to pick up a “real business book” à la something like Atomic Habits, but I got to those eventually (and would be happy to recommend my favorites).

The books on this list aren’t typical “business books.” They’re spiritual companions that remind you that you are the common denominator. They also give you practical ways to stay grounded as your business—and your life—grows.

Whether you’re looking for clarity in decision-making, inspiration for your next big idea, or just need a reminder that you’re not alone on the path of entrepreneurship, these seven titles are worth adding to your stack.

1. The Amen Effect: Ancient Wisdom to Mend Our Broken Hearts and World by Sharon Brous

Connection is at the center of every business. In this book, Brous draws on ancient Jewish wisdom to show how presence and empathy can repair relationships and communities. For business owners, it’s a call to build companies that are not only successful but also deeply human.

2. The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin

Rubin reframes creativity as a way of living. His reflections are especially powerful for entrepreneurs who need to stay open and curious while building something that lasts. Think of it as a reminder that your business, like any work of art, grows best when you experiment and trust the process—and that no one can argue with your story.

3. A Walk in the Wood: Meditations on Mindfulness with a Bear Named Pooh by Dr. Joseph Parent and Nancy Parent

Mindfulness doesn’t have to be heavy-handed. This book uses Winnie-the-Pooh as the perfect guide to presence and simplicity. For business owners caught up in the hustle of growth and deadlines, it’s a refreshing invitation to slow down and recalibrate. The fact that it doesn’t have a higher score on Goodreads is criminal!

4. A Still, Small Voice: A Psychic’s Guide to Awakening Intuition by Echo Bodine

Intuition is one of the most underrated business tools. Bodine offers practical ways to recognize and trust that inner voice, something every entrepreneur leans on—whether they admit it or not—when navigating tough decisions.

5. The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity by Catherine Ponder

A prosperity classic, this book connects spiritual principles with financial success. It’s not about quick wins or shortcuts, but about cultivating a mindset that attracts abundance while staying rooted in purpose. I don’t usually re-read books because my TBR pile is so tall, but I would re-read this one every year, and should probably make a note to do just that, honestly.

6. The Everyday Hero Manifesto: Activate Your Positivity, Maximize Your Productivity, Serve the World by Robin Sharma

Robin Sharma blends productivity with meaning, showing how personal growth and service can fuel any kind of business success. It’s a useful reminder that the best leaders are intentional about how their work impacts others. The “chapters” are short, too, which I always love. They are little nuggets you can read when you have a literal one-minute break and carry with you for the rest of the day. They are that powerful.

7. Real Magic: Creating Miracles in Everyday Life by Wayne Dyer

Wayne Dyer’s take on “magic” is practical, not whimsical (and I’d still read it even if it wasn’t because I’ve made it a point to read all of his books). He challenges readers to notice the small, everyday miracles that happen when we align ourselves with meaning. For business owners, this book is an encouragement to trust that when you’re on the right path, opportunities often arrive in surprising ways.

Why These Books Matter for Business Owners

If you’re an entrepreneur who leads with your heart, these books remind you that growth is more than measurable milestones. True growth is about how you show up along the way. They offer perspective for when you’re scaling, changing direction, or have your head down trying to stay grounded in the daily work of running a business.

At Popa & Associates, we work with soul-led business owners who want their message to reflect the depth of their mission. You’ve kinda got to own that you’re—at minimum—a spiritual human who happens to also own a business that helps other humans. If you’re ready for copy that connects to your ideal people, let’s talk.

And, as always, if you have book recs, I’m always adding to my list!
